[Mr. Game & Watch]

Well, due to the lack of Dark Emerald Coast selections, there won’t be a poll this week. Quite the cast of locations I must say. 3 years ago, if somebody told me that Mean Bean Machine was going to get a location on the board I would be checking the date to make sure it wasn’t April 1st. Not to say any of the location suggestion were bad, just hoping for a bit more user activity than just merely Mari and I. This time we might just need it. (Fret not, Pokemon shall be here shortly).

Next on the docket is Porky’s Factory, so we need some Earthbound/Mother representation up in here! I don’t know much about this franchise, but I know enough that we’re only working with 3 or so games, in which case we should also look to expand our horizons to include sub-locations from different, yet similar games to this franchise. RPGs that break away from the traditional ‘Sword and Magic’ genre (sorry, Undertale is still not legal). So, let’s see them suggestions! The three best decided from our (hopefully) weekly polls will receive 100 coins in cash money, put that right in the bank!

Priority #1 - Distinctness from the parent location: So for example, a sub-location in Mushroom Ruins should not simply be another part of Mushroom Ruins. Toad Town for example would be a sub-location we'd have to deny for not being distinct from its parent location, as that is already the primary setting.

Priority #2 - Roleplay Opportunities: Locations suggested should provide a wide variety of potential missions that could be hosted there. If a location seems more like an individual mission gimmick that caters itself to one specific type of mission, it's probably better off staying that way rather than becoming a sub-location. The same goes for locations that characters can't logically normally access.

Priority #3 - Iconicness: Locations should be representative to the series, as opposed to being stuff that has been randomly made up because it sounds fun. Making your own stuff up is great, don't get me wrong, but because of the issue of clutter we probably won't be accepting custom sub-boards at this time.

Suggestions as of now:

Saturn Observation Deck
Description: A room in the factory which is a recreation of Saturn Valley. It was made by Pokey and his workers to observe some Saturns that they have captured, intending to use them for future experiments, however the factory was soon taken over by the Starvia before the experiments could start and the valley was abandoned. Surprisingly, the Saturn's managed to survive due to oxygen provided by a dying worker who didn't want the Saturn's to be abandoned and at the mercy of the Starvia.

The Hidden Floor
Description: A secret floor under Pokey's factory, it is said that in order to access it, you must climb down through a hole in a broken down elevator. This floor is mostly dark and filled with rooms that appeared to have experiments taken place, there are also Starvia infected chimera's running around, looking for prey, however there are rumours that the legendary "Ultimate Chimera" is waltzing around the dark halls of this floor, eating anything that stands in his and his close friend's way of survival.

Monotoil's Labyrinth
Description: A series of floors located on the very top of the factory, the rooms were built and owned by Pokey Minch so he can look down at his workers and make sure there not screwing around while trying to find the cure for Starvia. He based the floors on a tall building that he used to own in Fourside, however since he didn't give a good description other then "Make it like Monotoli building!" The workers just made tons of floors that more or less act odd in their own sort of ways due to not knowing who Monotoli is. Now that it's abandoned the only things dangerous in this area are Starvia infected robots roaming around the halls of these floors, however there are rumours that an uninfected human maid by the name of "Electra" Is running around looking for Yogurt.

The Reaper's District
Description: This off-brand yet on-model copy of the Shibuya distract in Tokyo Japan is the stage for a terrible game of second chances. Those who have met their true death, unable to be saved by the trophification process, sometimes wind up here as ghosts. They are made to play The Reaper's Game under threat of having their spirits destroyed while haunting the normal citizens of the area, a band of dissidents who left the life sphere in protest of Sonic's plans for Li. Those who win the week-long game are given a second chance at life, but the game's composer conspires not to let anyone win...

The Moon Sphere
Description: The Moon Sphere is an erratic, error-prone simulation of the Life Sphere created by Porky to simulate the spread of an airborne cure for the starvia that never became reality. The simulation has been damaged by time and is heavily distorted compared to the real thing. Buildings twist, it is eternally night, many things are wildly off-color/texture. At times, it may start to feel like you're in a Salvador Dali painting. Simulated versions of every citizen wander around in various states of intelligence, from nearly lifelike to completely insane. They remain unaware that their existence is tied to this place, but are fully capable of attacking others, and can sometimes be found fighting off lost infected. However, they are generally weaker than the real thing and often fail to protect themselves as a result. At the end of every month, the simulation 'resets'.

Role in Parent Series: Saturn Valley is a location in Earthbound, in fact it's one of the most visible locations in the game and is a place where certain important events of the game happen, it is also the home of the popular creatures known as the Mr. Saturns. The valley reappears again in Mother 3, where one of the needles that Lucas, Kumatora, Duster, and Boney needed to find was located nearby.

Name of Sub-Location: The Hidden Floor
Parent Location: Pokey's Factory

Role in Parent Series: This floor is based on the Chimera laboratory in Mother 3. During this part of the game, Lucas and Boney disguise themselves as Pigmask soldiers in order to rescue Salsa the monkey and his girlfriend Samba, during which the chimeras that were kept in the lab escaped and proceeded to cause havoc, one of the chimeras being the ultimate one.

Name of Sub-Location: Monotoil's Labyrinth
Parent Location: Pokey's Factory

Role in Parent Series: The Labyrinth is based on a short dungeon in "Earthbound" in it, Ness and Jeff Andounauts enter it to rescue Paula Polestar, who has been kidnapped a second time by Pokey, his father and the mayor of Fourside, the latter of whom has been possessed by the Mani Mani Statue. During the dungeon they are later helped by the famous band the Runaway Five.

Name of Sub-Location: The Reaper's District
Parent Location: Pokey's Factory

Role in Parent Series: This location is based on Moonside from Earthbound, serving as an illusory location of madness that only superficially resembles its overworld counterpart, Fourside. I believe it's based on the same location as Monotoil's Labyrinth by Stariii, however, the spin is wildly different.
