    The mage Shiya stood quietly in the center of the arena at Sunshine Stadium while waiting for his opponent. Many a crowd was gathered in the stands to witness the coming fight, just as Shiya expected; it was after all a popular event according to what he had heard. Of course, there was really only one reason that Shiya would even be competing in an open fighting competition like this, and that was because he needed money bad. A peace keeper's gotta eat too, ya know!

"I just hope I can finish this quickly. I don't want to hurt anyone more than necessary." He commented to himself while focusing on amassing his EnerGy reserves within his body. The young mage continued to wait in silence though, for the moment when a challenger would approach...

And that challenger happened to be the Dark Wizard, Schezo Wegey. He walked down the corridor leading to the arena, having not much to expect from his first duel here. He's got magic in his sleeve, but he hasn't dueled anyone in a long time, and it'd be quite opportune for him to sharpen himself. Prizes are an afterthought to him. It didn't take long for him to notice his opponent, clad in red.

"You there. You are my opponent, are you not?"

Schezo called out to him, not drawing his sword until an official says so. Rules are rules, after all.

The flow of the audience transcended to the warriors below, like avatars of their ideals. When the duo was merely facing each other, the crowd roared into an uproarious applause like this was the first match that they had ever laid witness upon. It was hardly the truth, some of the residents basically lived in the arena, waiting for the next match like an injection of adrenaline. The crowd absolutely loved the duo despite the fact that no one knew who either of them were.

From the catacombs of the Sunshine Stadium emerged another figure, a stern and strict man with shades that shined in the synthetic sunlight. His arms were tightly crossed, his muscles rippling and intimidating. As he stepped onto the arena grounds, a small electric rodent followed in suit behind him, the ever adorable and overshadowed Raichu. Lt Surge ceased at the center of the arena, his hands signalling to the crowd to simmer down and return to their seats.



“Hrm, a couple o’ fresh baby faces” the electric gym leader mused to himself as he let his orange rat climb onto his shoulder. “This should be in-” before the referee could finish his sentence, he felt a disturbance approaching the battlefield. The presence of an ape he thought he obliterated long ago.

From the audience, a grinning colossus dive bombed into the arena, landing directly next to the Lightning American.



“What up my bruddas!? The Funkiest Kong in all the land is here to start this shindig!” the hip chimp announced with his flawlessly bright grin.

“This is my match to ref, Funky.”

“What’s stopping us from sharing, my brudda?”

“Everything you stand for.”

“Well, let’s have us a good clean match! No killing.”

“No outside help, whether it be an item or another person, this is a test of your skills.”

“And yah both get five bouts to see which of yah are the strongest!”

“Now let’s take this outside” Lt Surge groaned as the two of them walked out of the Stadium.

"Well, I guess its time to start..." Shiya sighed before placing both of his hands in front of himself. "Project!"

    Bluish light flashed in his palms before it expanded in a twisting work of energy before becoming visible as his favorite two short-swords, the Kamuya blades. "Let the best man win." He said to Schezo before charging forward, the dust kicking up into the air and behind him as he ran full force at the mage.

    Not wasting any time after approaching Schezo, Shiya let loose strike after swing; relentlessly attacking the mage with his full force off the bat. While it certainly wasn't the cleanest of maneuvers, keeping the pressure on his opponent at such a close range would greatly limit their options.1d20+4·1d20+4·1d20+4

Schezo observed him draw his weapons. So his opponent knows swordplay like himself? This ought to be an interesting battle for the Dark Wizard. Like his opponent, he held out his hand, but it was a concentration of dark magic. He summoned a longsword with a blade as clear as crystal. This is his beloved weapon, the Dark Sword. Once the weapon took shape, Schezo grabbed hold and brandished it to him.

"Likewise. Have at you!"

With him taking the first move, Schezo proceeded to act and evade. The opening slash didn't look too clean, so he thought that evading it would be a breeze.

Well, that could have gone better. He dodged the first strike, but the other two proved to be quicker than he thought. Schezo isn't going to let that off the hook so easily, though. Schezo retaliated with his own set of sword slashes.

But that retaliation could have gone much better in his mind. The Dark Wizard may know how to use a sword, but he puts his faith in his magic a bit more. He's off to a shaky start, but the fight has just begun.

“AH HA HA HA! Welcome to today’s match up ladies and germs! Today we have Schezo Wegey VERSUS Shiya Kirigaya!”

“…Schizo… Wedgie?”

“Big Top! That is incredibly disrespectful to the contestant!”

“…Okay, it doesn’t sound exactly like that, but you gotta admit its close. Also is he schizophrenic? Is that why he’s named that?”

“That would be silly, Big Top! Why would someone name something after a trait it exhibits!?”

“…Your right. Nobody ever does that, right Ballyhoo?”

“Exactly! Now, enough of the distractions, we have a sword on sword battle going on down there! And what a show it is! We’ve never had quite an evenly match fight!”

“I know, right? Even their names are equally outlandish…”

“You’re really hounding on those names aren’t you?”

“I dunno, you’re really not giving me any other material here. I have no idea who either of these guys are… Can you please just change your hat already, your head is really starting to itch.”

“Big Top, it’s too late for that you’re contractually obligated now.”

“…Kill me.”

“But, thanks for bringing that up! I can now perfectly segue into the part of the show where we educate our viewers on these two are!”

“…Oh, I can’t wait to see how wrong you get these two…”

*Big book thump*

“Let’s start at chapter 127!”

“That has to be a gag prop…”

    The fight was going off to a pretty good start; Shiya got the first strike, he got his opponent to reveal their weapon, AND it was a sword! How lucky could he get! First though before acting on anything, he had to get some distance so his opponent didn't hack him to pieces.

    Well, it seems that his opponent was just a formidable a sword fighter as Shiya himself. They had both exchanged an equal amount of blows on each other, though Shiya could still tell that his foe's blade was more suited for touch and go contact by the lack of force behind it. He could use that to his advantage, but first...

"Trace on. Analyze." He quietly said while directing his focus at Schezo's blade, the EnerGy flowing profusely from Shiya.

    He could see the very inner workings of the blade, and better yet its abilities... now all that was left was maintaining focus while concentrating. Raising his arm so that it pointing directly up with his palms upward, Shiya projected several blades into the air above him. Bringing his hand forward to face Schezo, the blades rocketed forth from the air onto the unsuspecting Schezo. "Take this!"

When the blades summoned came rushing to him, he knew there was no way he could use his reflexes to dodge that rain of blades. He held out his sword in front of himself as an improvised shield, in which the bubble shield takes shape to absorb the damage. It flickered a bit, but it still could take another hit before breaking.

So my opponent is capable of conjuring blades? Quite the fascinating magic arts he has. I'm more 'traditional' as the mystic records put it, but is there anything wrong with it?

On that note, Schezo pointed his blade at his opponent. But nay, he is not going to use swordplay again. Instead, the sword began to discharge several sparks of electricity as he began conjuring a spell. With the call of the spell's name, he thrusted it forward to unleash myriad of bolts at his opponent.

“AHEM! Schezo Wegey, Dark Wizard of ancient magic and the possessor of the Dark Sword! Blah blah blah blah, wants to rule Puyo Hell, blah blah blah, got his head chopped off, blah blah blah, got better.”

“…Well, at least you tried to go over the back story… By the sounds of it… Nah that could all still be wrong.”

“Big Top! How dare you accuse me of swiftly skipping over things I thought were not important! I was quoting this gigantic book to a tee! It is actually written this way!”

“Lemme see… Wow, someone really must’ve hated their job. Did I write this book?”

“Encyclopedia of everything on Li, what a bunch of phooey! Pardon my language. Here I am trying to educate the masses and my sources give me nothing!”

“…Oh hey, it says his name means ‘the gorgeous man who defiles the gods’… No comment.”

“Bah! Let’s see what the great book of everything says about our other fighter! If we can’t fully educate our listeners on one fighter, we might as well partially explain the two at the same time!”

“Looks like a blank page to me…”

“To the naked eye it does, but watch this!”

“…Hm, for some reason I don’t think it being on fire will show us anything…”

“Of course it does, Big Top! You just gotta think about it! Look at the way it just combusted! Quick to flames, that symbolizes that he’s quick to anger! See how the flames spread from the outside in, it means that while the world around him is falling apart, he shall stay strong and won’t let it consume him!”

“…Until it reaches the center, so does that mean that it will eventually consume him anyways?”

“Now you’re getting it! See how it’s quickly engulfing our booth?! That means that he does not care for the establishment or as some say ‘the man’ and he will tear down the structure of the corrupt societies!”

“…Man, I can’t wait for these flames to kill us. More so because of what will happen to you than to me, but you know I’ve had my fill of this world about a year ago so I don’t mind too much…”

nHwgMggBp_1d20 (Thunderstorm Evade - Fail) Shiya tried his best to keep his concentration and focus, but being shot at by lightning didn't help very much.

    Focusing on the task at hand demanded sacrifices though, so unfortunately Shiya didn't have enough time nor focus enough to evade the blast of lightning from the dark mage. "Gah!" He yelled in pain as he gritted his teeth to stifle it. It certainly hurt and scorched his robe, but it thankfully wasn't enough to leave any lasting damage.

p_1d100(Paralysis Check - Safe) The paralysis effect of Schezo's lightning attack didn't leave any lasting effects such as paralysis, so all in all Shiya was able to shrug of the majority of the attack's effects minus the initial damage. Finally after such a long time though, Shiya's analysis was done.

    "Heh. *Pant* Thanks man. I really owe you one for that..." He said while trying to catch his breath, still winded from that last attack. 

    "You just made this a lot more easier for me." Holding out his hand in front of him as the EnerGy inside of Shiya's body flowed forth, his ability came forth. "Trace on...." Closing his eyes as he remembered all of the structural pieces, the EnerGy flowed out of his hands as they constructed themselves into a familiar shape.

    "PROJECT!" Closing his hand firmly and pointing it at Schezo, Shiya now held a materialized blade; this one an exact copy of Schezo's very own Dark Sword!
 

    Rushing forward Towards Schezo once more, this time with a sword identical to his very own, he let loose one more burst of fast strikes; this time with the added bonus of Schezo's sword fitting this fighting style very well and accenting his own skill and speed. "Huraagh!" Shiya yelled out in triumph as the flashing dual blades collided in harmony.

Shiya uttered seemingly senselessly as he continued his furious strikes on Schezo; every so often throwing his blade at the mage as a distraction, only to project another to attack him with during the dodge. "Iron is of my body. And Inferno, my heart."

p_1d20+4 (Projection Assault: DMG 8%) Keeping in his flow, Shiya continued to recite the words he had memorized by heart; seemingly a nonsensical ramble. "I've born witness to thousands of blades." His hits faultured in rhythm, possibly allowing Schezo to continue, but Shiya did not care. Instead he continued his defenseless rain of blows onto the foe with intent to end this fight. "Not once retreating. Nor once to gain."

p_1d20+4 (Projection Assault: DMG 8%) Finishing off his assault with a last strike, Shiya leapt backwards before once more uttering another line with a straight face and serious intent. "The bearer lies here alone, forging iron in a hill of broken blades..." With these next words, EnerGy power began literally flowing like an unrestrained river out of Shiya's body, visible in a blueish-green aura surrounding him as his ability began to manifest.

"Thunderstorm." He announced calmly before the sword began to discharge several sparks of electricity, all of which burst out with immense and in-containable force as they cascaded towards the dark mage with a behemoth of power.

"Thank you?"

Schezo was puzzled when his opponent uttered that line. What does he mean by that? As he observed him exhibit his special ability, there it was: a complete replica of his very sword. He's had his abilities used against him before, but it was because it actually was his stolen magic manifested into his own image. This is an entirely different story!

"Nha-!? How did you-!?"

If Schezo guarded right now, he'd have no shield to work with. Guess he's gotta make do with running for it!

Schezo fumbled around trying to dodge the Assault again. It went exactly as well as the last time, taking another good chunk of damage. And then there was his replicated Thunderstorm. After his bumbling performance, Schezo decided to throw the shield up and cut down the damages.

Ngh...This is not good. I have to turn the battle in my favor somehow!

Schezo continued his barrage of magic, this time using his dark magic. Enough holding back. He readied his sword by reversing the grip, casting a couple of spells.

“WOAH! Did you see that move, Big Top!? He just made a copy of the other guy’s sword! Now that’s a dirty tactic! I LOVE it!”

“…No, I think I was too busy watching the flames around us grow higher. People are starting to freak out, you think we should do something?”

“Of course not, Big Top! The show must go on, we must do everything within our power to give these people a show, no matter the cost! *cough* Oh, but this smoke is starting to get thick!”

“Hey, if you want to get us killed I really don’t care. Not that I can really do anything about that anyway…”

“Big Top, we really need to get you to a therapist…”

“…Eh, we’ll see. I think we gotta live through this first…”

“Ah ha! I forgot about my lucky bucket of water! Can’t go anywhere without it! One second I’ll fix this up real quick!”

“…You don’t have a lucky bucket of water… You have a lucky bucket of gasoline… Frankly I don’t know how or why anyone would consider gasoline lucky…”

“Hrm, you’re right, I think I only made the flames worse… Hrm, I gotta have some kind of prop around here that could help us!”

“…I think I might also be on fire…”

“Don’t worry, Big Top, I have a plan!”

“…Ah good, that means we’ll die faster.”

“Nonsense! I have the perfect plan!”

“…How are we still alive at this point?”

nhnE|uLmp_1d100 (Lwark Void Check - Safe) As Shiya made his final preparations to go all out, he noticed Schezo attempting to fire some sort of orbs of dark energy at him? This must be some sort of necro-shade ability he had been hiding. Nevertheless, Shiya swiftly dodged past most of the blasts before cutting through the last ones in his way. "It'll take more than that to stop me." He claimed while closing the distance between them.

p_1d20+1 (Sting Shade Evade - Fail) However, Shiya couldn't dodge every single one of the attacks, as one was bound to hit him sooner or later. One of the dark blasts caught Shiya in the shoulder and on several of his torso areas, ripping through the fabrics of his cloak until it was very much shredded.

"That's it." He said while struggling to keep his balance at the moment, as more and more EnerGy cascaded around him.

    Ripping off his shredded cloak by the sleeve in one motion, he tossed it to the side before focusing his sights directly onto Schezo. "Thus is my life's meaning... This is my only path..." He continued his incantation, as one by one, runes of EnerGy appeared all across his arms, legs, and his eye glowed unbridled with power. Around them, the ground began violently shaking as Shiya's power continued to grow exponentially with no evidence of stopping. His attention semi-diverted to the announcers booth, Shiya let out a sigh before allowing the two inside of there into his concentration as well. Might as well save them from burning to death while he's at it. "My body is the forge. My life..." Finally, as if the earth could not take any more force and began bursting open as bright light broke free from the ground all around the arena until everyone was nearly blinded, Shiya spoke the final words.

"is INFINITE SWORD BIRTH!!!" He screamed out the final words that were his being in itself as the world around them disappeared.

    In its place, was something entirely different. The landscape had changed to that of a different reality than what once was the arena. Instead, Schezo and Shiya were stranded on an open wasteland that seemed to span forever with the horizon burning like a red fire. Around them for as far as one could see were swords and weapons stuck into the ground of every shape and size like that of a graveyard with the two of them at its center. This was Shiya's ultimate EnerGy technique in which he let loose the unrestrained might of his power by bringing himself and his foes into his very own reality. To the outside world and the audience, it would look as if they had all simply vanished from the face of the planet! And yet still, here Shiya could use his abilities uninhibited with no limitation on his projection power!

    Charging right at Schezo, Shiya wasted no time at all as he quickly picked up one of his blades before thrusting it at the dark wizard. He continued onward with an onslaught of sword after sword, with each new attack raining down blow after blow while projecting new blades every few seconds to attack Schezo with so that he could never let up his gaurd for a second!

He yelled out before a complete copy of Pit's Upperdash Arm projected flew from the wasteland's field of weapons onto his arm as he primed himself for a punch directly into the gullet of Schezo's form. "HUAAAAAAAARGH!" His voice reverberated with power as the world around them shook. The strain of keeping together this reality while actively using his EnerGy to fight was a great strain, so he needed to finish this as quickly as possible!

    Possibly unnoticed by Schezo to the side of the fight on a hill, there sat the announcer Ballyhoo and his hat friend Big Top. Shiya could bring anyone he focused onto into his reality of Infinite Sword Birth as long as they were within range; so an overeager and talkative announcer in a burning fire was quite the sight to focus on. Nevertheless it seemed that the duo could still continue to commentate the fight (Though its unsure whether they will due to there being no audience!)

Schezo looked around himself, alarmed that the entire reality has warped to Shiya's will. Swords are scattered in every which way, none of which are tangible to him. Well, of course they wouldn't, it's his world, after all. Schezo's really got his back to the psychological wall, and he's been made his plaything. With a pitiful amount of shield on hand, he has no choice but rely on his agility.

Third time's the charm, the assault was swiftly evaded, swerving left and right to effortlessly avoid getting attacked. Doubly so, since the world he's in seems to be giving him power. And then there's the Upperdash...

Unfortunately, he's much too slow to dodge that one, and he had no choice but to try and dodge it. Schezo was practically sent flying halfway across the arena, landing flat on his back. Oof, that's gotta smart...

"Ngh...It isn't over yet...!"

Struggling to get his footing, he sought himself to get his act together. With his free hand, he lashed out a tether of dark magic to try and hold down his opponent. If he can't land a hit, he's not going to win this fight.

"Dark Bind!"

He then rights his sword grip, raising his blade to the sky. Dark magic began to gather at the tip of the blade, before rising up to the sky and shifts to a shadowy blade barrage from above.

“AH HA HA HA! See my plan worked! No more fire!”

“…Well, there’s still fire here and there… Also I don’t think you had anything to do with this…”

“Pish Posh! I knew this spell book was worth the coins!”

“Spell book?”

“Indeed! The Encyclopedia of everything on Li doubles as a spell book! That’s why it was double the cost! It was well worth it though!”

“…The only things about that book that survived the fire was the bindings…”

“Ah, that’s all you need to perform the spells! Now, let’s see where our combatants are at! Hrm, ah! There are my handy dandy binoculars!”

“…I’m still on fire…”

“Ah! Our duo of fighters are still going cuff to cuff! Fist to fist! Sword to sword! I’m so proud of them both! Even when they are thrown into an apocalyptic setting they still fight like it means something!”

“…How is that any different from normal?”

“I wonder where the audience went off to!? I wonder if they’re gonna be upset about not being able to see the battle!? Ah, probably not! We’ll just have to fill them in when we get back! In the meantime, I think our friend Shiya is in the middle of a monologue! All great fights have monologues!”

“…I’m just waiting for the flames to go through me so that they’ll eventually start burning you…”

“Ah, don’t worry about that, Big Top! I’ll put that out!”

“I swear if you dump more gasoline on me I’ll make sure you burn up with me…”
